Lovebats

Re-watched the "Silverwing" mini-series a few days ago and, of course, fanart was inevitable.  The series turned out about as good as I remember it being, and despite some obvious budget issues I'm sad that it didn't get its originally proposed second season.
I figured now was as good a time as ever to read the original trilogy, since I never got around to it (I remember reading "Darkwing" and loving it), unfortunately, I think I'm going to have to purchase it on Amazon, seeing how the local bookstore and libraries don't have it in stock.

Anyway, the ladybat is my version of Goth's wife and Throbb's younger sister (in relevance to the series), Carnage.  I found it kind of odd that Goth and Throbb were specifically mentioned as brother-in-laws in the series, since they're apparently not related at all in the books.  Why not just make them brothers or keep them unrelated?  Maybe Goth or Throbb's wife was supposed to be introduced in the second season?  Anyway, whatever the reason, I had fun coming up with this character and plan to do a lot with her--so far she's as bloodthirsty and violent as Goth and Throbb and a bit of a trickster.

Using colored pencils this time around since a lot of my Copic markers--especially my blue ones--are dying.  It was pretty refreshing to use them again, though there were so many purples!  Goth has earned himself a place alongside Balto as a character with surprisingly hard-to-match coat colors...ugh.
There's a lot about this that I'm already picky about, but I had a lot of fun working on it and it's certainly not the last pic of these two that I'll do.  They might look sweet together here, but they have a very violent love/hate relationship and it's fun just to draw them interacting with one another.
