101 Dal. Series Grown-Up Pups by Stray-Sketches 101 Dal. Series Grown-Up Pups by Stray-Sketches
These were kinda last minute.

I don't see Rebecca and Tripod as a couple (if you do, great, I think they'd have interesting pups, but I just don't see a connection), but since I was going mostly by the 1961 movie/Dodie Smith books, I didn't include Lucky with this set.
Also, because in the books, Lucky ends up with a wife named Gay.

Still fun to draw these two, though.

In case you're not familiar with them, Rebecca and Tripod were two pups from the series, that used to air on Toon Disney.  Tripod is one of the adopted pups and Rebecca was a pup from the past; she was not part of the Dearly family, adopted nor biological.

It's a shame a DVD hasn't been released.

She's pretty talented, but I have a soft spot for Kath Soucie and Jeff Bennett. :3

I've heard of Kath Soucie.... she was in rugrats, another one of my childhood faves. I've just looked up Jeff Bennett and I had no idea he also played Dr. Jacques von Hamsterviel!! My fave voice actor is Tom Kenny :3 SpongeBob (Angel) Gary the Snail free spyro icon

Tom Kenny is amazing, no doubt!  I really admire voice actors, they contribute so much to film and animation and are (unfortunately) usually the unsung heroes.
When it doubt about a character's voice, it's usually Jeff Bennett--I honestly think I've heard his voice in about 95% of the cartoons/animated films and shows I've seen lol.

Robin Williams is awesome in Aladdin. ^3^ He had to be replaced in the 2nd film though due to an issue

Good to see these two, another of my favorites in the bunch. They turned out pretty good and I like the little touches, such as how Rebecca's ruff is noticeably smaller.

Thank you!
Since I was going for the 1961-movie style, I figured Rebecca's collar would actually look more like a regular collar, but I still liked the ruff enough to leave it, since it's pretty much what she's famous for (well that, and her heart-shaped spot).

Man, i haven't watched the 101 dalmatians series since the "Toon disney" channel was around i totally forgot about some of these characters. And i feel bad for dogs that have amputated legs, must be pretty hard to walk/run with 3 legs.

Yeah, nostalgia is (fortunately or unfortunately, depending on how you look at it) a huge part of my life; even if I don't always talk about or draw them, there are just some shows and some characters that I try to never forget about.

And, yes, dogs (or any animal, for that matter) with amputated legs have it rough, but fortunately there are many stories of 3-legged (and sometimes even 2-legged) dogs who lead wonderful, normal lives and do just fine.  Seriously, some stuff I see on Animal Planet has almost brought me to tears.

I always wondered how Tripod lost his leg.  Most people seem to think he was born like that, but, for some reason, I like to think he lost it somehow.  Too close a run-in with Cruella or her henchmen?  I dunno.

I always assumed he was born that way, but considering what Cruella was capable of doing to the dalmatians, I could just as easily accept that she/one of her schemes did something to him.  Also, as a sports nut, I could also see him getting into a bad accident when he was much younger, and having to amputate the leg.
I'm just glad he never let his leg stop him. :3

Tripod appeared a lot more in the series, Rebecca was only in 1 episode--she's got an adorable design, though.

That would explain it, then: The series spent more time on Toon Disney than on the proper Disney Chanel, right? Because we did not even get Toon Disney until very recently and only shortly before it became... *winces* "Disney XD". The last chance I got to see the show (as well as others like "Tale Spin" and "Chin n Dale Rescue Rangers") were on Fridays when they would have random marathons.

Yeah, I don't think the series ever aired on Disney Channel, but for a long time it was a prime show (meaning it aired at a fairly good time slot, like 5pm or something) on Toon Disney.  I'm pretty sure by the time Disney XD came around, the series was pushed into the shadows, airing at ridiculously early hours of the morning, like 4 or 5am.

I actually think it's pretty recent that they've taken the show off the air completely (I used to record the show in the morning), so by now the best chances of watching any of it are via clips on YouTube (and possibly 1 or 2 episodes somewhere on Tumblr).  At the very least, I wish it'd been released on DVD.

As best as my memory serves, it may have shown up once or twice on Disney Chanel, but again, just when they would have special nights where they would show some stuff from Toon Disney.

A shame I missed it then, because I could have actually caught it even at 4 or 5 am because this is when I wake up to exercise, but it is always sad when this happens to any show. As far as DVDs go, I wouldn't rule it out entirely just yet considering that many of the older good, older Disney Cartoons have made it onto DVD at least partially.

Probably.  I miss the old Disney Channel and Toon Disney, there just seemed a lot more to get out of those channels just a few short years ago.

Oh, I could definitely see "101 Dal." getting a series DVD release, if enough people got behind it.  As a proud member of the "Gargoyles" fandom, I'm happy to say that we (the fans as a collective whole) finally got the last half of season 2 on DVD, after a few years of asking and waiting.  Yes, I definitely think it's possible.

Oh, I wholeheartedly agree with that. It was kind of nice that Toon Disney picked up all of the shows that were cast adrift from "Jetix" but as soon as Toon Disney turned in Disney XD it looked like they were gone for good and even just a few years ago you could still occasionally see shows like 101 Dalmations, Chip n' Dale Rescue Rangers, TaleSpin and Darkwing Duck on Toon Disney even just a few years ago before the conversion.

So you have seen this happen before, too. I am a member of the Sonic the Hedgehog fandom who most enjoys the three cartoons that predate Sonic X. We had to wait for years to get our releases, too and even had to fight through some issues regarding who had the licenses but we too eventually got full releases of Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic the Hedgehog "SatAM", and Sonic Underground.

Yeah, after Toon Disney turned into Disney XD and Disney Channel started replacing some of their old shows, both channels just were never the same.

Oh, yeah, I believe if a fandom is strong enough they can make a lot happen; to my knowledge the "101 Dalmatians" fandom isn't that big, as least not specifically towards the 101 franchise, more like scattered amongst dog lovers and general Disney fans, but I think it's still totally possible to see a "101 Dal. Series" DVD within a few years.
Fingers crossed.

Rebecca was only in one episode, where the pups encounter a town that was cursed and it was run by Cruella's great(by x) uncle. She was one of the stage coach dogs that followed the uncle around town, as was the breed was once known for.
